What is ‘Functional Training’?

Think of something you do every so often, a chore, shopping, a sports activity, anything. Now, have you ever struggled with a simple action? Are you tired from just climbing stairs or do your knees hurt? Functional training, uses complex movements (not isolated actions typically utilized by body builders to build larger muscles), that relate to everyday movements in order to make the training practical and applicable. 

The same goes for sport. Certain sports require more leg strength or greater upper body strength and therefore needs to focus more on certain movements than others.


What packages are offered?

As personal training gym / studio, we work on long-term commitment. That said in this day and age, people are often not able to due to work, family etc. so instead of a year contract, we work on 3 month contracts and not ‘per session’ although our packages work out to very very low prices per session. What type of equipment does WorkoutZone have?

We have a wide variety of equipment that we use throughout the phases of our program. Some of our favorite equipment includes kettlebells, dumbbells, slam balls, suspension trainers, plyometrics boxes and we.  Other than that, no dreaded treadmills or elliptical trainers (definitely no queues), but we utilize the body to perform the movements functional to every day life.

We do have spinning bikes and only a small amount to keep the sessions small, private and 100% focused on individual client needs.
